Pictured below is the new backsplash we installed for Awaken Cafe. This is recycled glass people! Love the fact that the cafe owners (cortt is one, pictured here bottom left) chose to re-plane old wood removed from the original construction in this turn of the century theater house site in downtown Oakland, CA.
This is an older piece, a sun mandala, in vitreous glass tile, 2005.
The Hokusai Triple Wave. An original image created by A. Farsai - installed at the Vulcan Studios, Oakland, CA, 2008.This image is inspired by the legendary Japanese painting The Great Wave by Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849). The triple yin-yang in the center was constructed by hand by E.G. for this project.

Here is a work in progress - designed as part of a two piece, this labrynth spiral is the second of two mosaics designed for Awaken Cafe, opening Spring 2008 in downtown Oakland CA.
This 22" x 18" Nautilus will be installed in early 2008 in the Main Bathroom for the Sanctuary of the Arts, in Oakland, CA. Made in June 2007 by Aryana Farsai in a traditional greco-roman style from marble, granite, and travertine.
